How To Use Pinterest Keywords For Websites, Blogs, Ads, and SEO
Whether this is for your personal business or for one of your clients, Pinterest can be a huge help when it comes to websites, blogs, interests used for advertising, and SEO/searchable keywords.
When looking through your Pinterest boards/pins on mobile you will see that the app gives you similar words to match your images within each folder.
To visit:
Open the Pinterest app on your apple or android - Click on your profile in the top right corner - Scroll to see your latest posts or boards - keywords will be located under each category
You cannot view keywords within a board
The more you have in each board, the more keywords you will be able to view.
ADS
When creating a Facebook ad for myself or clients, I always look for better keywords to target their specific market. Before I used Pinterest keywords, I would simply use descriptions that fit within their industry.
Now, Pinterest has allowed for me to go in and see what else others in their industry might be interested in.
For example. TYM targets small business owners in small cities. Great!
The normal keywords I would use would include small business, marketing, business, entrepreneurship ...
If I go into my Pinterest, I am going to see more keywords that might fit my target audience better such as etsy, diy, succulents, blogging ...
Do you see how more relative this becomes once I start using reletive, yet out of the box interests?
By using this method, I have seen an incredible increase in clicks and impressions!
The same method can be used when advertising on Pinterest as well as LinkedIn and Instagram.
SEO
Everyone always wants better SEO. And as you may already know, it takes more than "behind-the-scenes" work to get your site to the top.
P.S. you have to CONTENT! This will be covered later :)
But, what you can do with these keywords is understand what people are searching for, what they are interested in, and how you can relate your website to others while still maintaining true to your own interests.
You may have DIY as one of your top keywords. You can do a little research and see what others are pinning within that category and apply those keywords within your content and website.
WEBSITE
This is an AMAZING tool to use when building or altering your website. These keywords can be used as a guideline as to what you should talk about within your pages. By using these keywords, you know that you already have a connection with that topic and others will relate as well.
BLOG
Hit a writers block? Instead of going through your pins and finding something that as already been covered, use the keywords!
This is a great way to find motivation for a new article. Not to mention, if it is already in your Pinterest search, it means you most likely know more about than you think you do.
Click on those keywords for more posts about the topic for inspiration.
